In 2011 Pat’s Fund added the Greater Northwest: National MS Society as a new partner and focus of attention. The MS Society is a treasure of information and support for those living with multiple sclerosis. As a 50 state organization they offer answers and direction for the patient as well as for family and others supporting the one with MS. Major support is provided by the MS Society for MS research at a variety of world class research organizations including Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason in Seattle.

Tracey, Pat’s sister was diagnosed with MS in 2008 furthering the awareness that autoimmune diseases (AD) frequently appear in family members of those affected by AD. Pat died 1in 1999 from an autoimmune blood platelet disease referred to as ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura).
